Starting in the highlands of
Inca Empire expanded across
South America to present
day Bolivia and Chile from 1438 to 1533. From their capital city,
the Incas built thousands of miles of roads and temples of perfectly carved
stones. They built aqueducts, fortresses, tunnels, suspension bridges and had a great understanding
of mathematics, agriculture and astronomy. In spite of all this, they were no match
for the Spanish when Francisco Pizarro arrived in 1533.
